Intelligence is the most consequential technology.
Every advance in human welfare — medicine, energy, science itself — has been bounded by our capacity to understand and reason. Systems that extend that capacity will reshape what is possible.
Today's AI is powerful, but narrow.
Current models are extraordinary pattern-learners. Yet they struggle to reason reliably, to learn continually, and to act competently in genuinely unfamiliar situations. Closing that gap is a scientific problem, not merely an engineering one.
General intelligence is our objective.
We are not claiming to have built it. We are working on the foundations — reasoning, learning, planning, and understanding — that it will require, and we measure ourselves by honest progress.
Safety is part of the science.
We treat interpretability, evaluation, and control as first-class research. A capability we cannot understand or verify is a capability we are not ready to release.
We answer to humanity.
Koodos is a nonprofit. Our structure exists so that the benefits of advanced intelligence are broadly shared, and its risks are carefully managed.
